The process has more than one full commercial reference site that has been operating for at least two years on this feedstock, at a relevant scale. Operational performance has met the client's expectations and the plant has achieved a performance that is consistent with international standards

PROVEN

The process has been proven in sustained commercial operation but in a more limited fashion (the nature of this limitation is described in our comments).

DEMONSTRATED

The integrated process has been demonstrated to operate satisfactorily on the relevant feed material at a pilot or demonstration project, typically in a time-limited trial.
Key performance parameters have been confirmed, though often at less than the targeted scale.

CONCEPTUAL

This rating applies to a process concept for which there is very limited performance data available as yet.
It is also applied when a company is promoting the technology for a new application or in a new configuration.

For various reasons we may decide not to give a process a rating (eg there may be unsufficient information available at the present time), in each instance the accompanying text will explain the reasons.
