Juniper is a specialist technology and business consultancy providing support to private and public sector clients in the waste, environmental and renewable energy sectors.
The company has been established for fifteen years and started by providing analysis on environmental business opportunities for large multi-nationals in the
USA
,
France
and
Germany
. We focused on analysing the opportunities for novel technologies to address the business opportunities arising at that time out of tougher environmental regulations in
Europe
.
In the 1990s, we conducted a number of studies that looked at incineration and vitrification of wastes. The reports published at that time by Juniper established our reputation in this specific sector to a range of public and private sector clients across the globe. At the same time, we were also assessing opportunities in the air pollution control and water treatment sectors and a number of renewable energy market niches.
By the late 1990s our name had become increasingly associated with dispassionate analysis of the newly emergent pyrolysis and gasification technologies that were being aggressively promoted in North America, Europe and the Far East. Juniper presented many conference papers that analysed the capabilities of these processes, establishing our reputation as arguably the leading analyst of novel waste technologies being promoted in the waste sector. Since then we have consolidated this reputation by publishing ground-breaking reviews of technologies for managing scrap tyres and the so-called mechanical biological treatment (
MBT
) systems.
Today, Juniper continues to research and analyse novel processes and market trends in the waste management sector and is also increasingly involved in the biomass renewables field.
Based in the south-west of
England
, in the Cotswolds, the company has, in any one year, a mix of clients from public authorities, through process companies and large waste management companies, to banks and investment houses. We have a strong client base in
North America
and
Japan
in addition to our core business in
Europe
.
While we continue to publish analysis of proprietary processes and of market trends, an increasing emphasis in our business is on providing due diligence reviews for investors. These reviews focus upon providing an analysis of risk levels associated with a project, from both a commercial and a technical perspective.
