Company History
Juniper was established nearly twenty years ago and started by providing analysis of environmental business opportunities for corporate clients in the USA and Europe.
We quickly gained a reputation for assessing novel technologies that were being marketed as a means of addressing the business opportunities arising at that time out of tougher environmental regulations in Europe.
Throughout the 1990s, Juniper provided a range of confidential consultancy services to clients interested in establishing a presence in the waste management or bio-renewables sectors through organic growth, partnership or acquisition. In this way we built up an impressive Client List of large corporates in the USA, Japan and Continental Europe.
At the same time we published a number of Technology Reviews and in-depth studies of Market Trends: our studies of Pyrolysis & Gasification, Scrap Tyre Management and MBT (mechanical biological treatment) have been used by more than 10,000 organisations worldwide and are recognised as the definitive studies of their type and in 2006 we launched WasteReports.com, a web-based publications house for high quality Technology Reviews and Management Briefings.
In 2007, we launched JuniperRatings, which is the only independent rating system for novel waste processing technologies. Covering more than 500 biological and thermal processes, JuniperRatings are already being used by public and private sector organisations to draw up shortlists for procurement and other purposes.
In 2009 many of the senior members of the team decided to pursue different career paths and so the company withdrew from providing bespoke consultancy services. However, our range of high quality reports remain available - some of which have been very recently updated.
